Faraz finds her voice
Our scholarship student Faraz has fought hard for her right to an education, something many of us take for granted. Like most of our scholarship recipients, she had a traumatic childhood and was unable to count on her family for support. Now, through her studies, Faraz is finding a voice for storytelling.
Serra’s story: how a tertiary scholarship can change a life
Completing a degree or certificate isn’t easy but it’s even tougher if you don’t have supportive parents to provide guidance and encouragement. Serra had spent many years couch-surfing until she got her own place when she was 16. Here, she shares her story about how she was heading down the wrong path when the opportunity to receive a scholarship changed her perspective and her future.
Terri: first in her family to attend university
Scholarship recipient Terri graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Australian Catholic University. She was the first in her extended family to both complete the HSC and attend university, and is a source of inspiration and pride to her younger siblings.
